Trail Blazer is a game designed by students from the University of California, Irvine during the year of 2011-2012. It was a yearlong project as part of the videogame development club at UCI.

While playing you control an oil blob as it leaves a trail of flammable oil around the grid-based level. Fire plays an important role as both a tool for progressing through the level, and an obstacle. Once the fire engulfs your oil trail, there's no stopping it, and it makes for an exciting time. Some have compared it to a variation on the game Snake.

The game features over 50 levels, as well as a level editor and the ability to record replays. I found the level editor to be the best part, as you could make some very interesting levels and mechanics with all the objects available. I know that's where I spent the bulk of my time with the game.
